Job Description:
The Modern Heritage shop team is looking to add a Cabinet Maker to our woodworking shop in Scarborough, ME. In this role, you will work from detailed specifications and be responsible for the setup and operation of power saws, joiners, planes, mortisers, and other woodworking equipment to create custom cabinets and architectural millwork. Requirements/Qualifications:
- 4+ years’ experience in a millwork shop (residential preferred).
- Trade School graduate is preferred, but not required.
- Must be mechanically inclined and like to work with your hands.
- Have a keen understanding of woodworking techniques, methods, and tools involved in the layout and construction of high-end custom cabinetry. Experience with non-wood materials is also a plus.
- Should have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, demonstrate precise measurement/math skills, and embody a culture of safety first.
- Communicates effectively and works well both independently and as a team.

Modern Heritage is seeking to fill a newly created Home Services Technician/Project Manager position. The role is focused on close-out management for all major company projects and routine maintenance programs for existing client base. Candidates should apply with a proactive approach, entrepreneurial attitude and good general knowledge of all trades—from carpentry and finishes to light plumbing and electrical.
This position allows for independence and self-direction within a fun small-team environment. Daily tasks include project management, client communication and subcontractor coordination. As the dedicated project close-out manager, the Home Services Technician will be the “go-to” client point of contact and final quality assurance check-point on recently completed work. The role ensures all projects are closed to company standards and client satisfaction. This is a highly visible position, with rewarding responsibilities and opportunities to grow the business.

- 10+ years experience in residential construction field, or associated trade
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Comfortable working directly with clients, team members and subs on a regular basis

Modern Heritage is currently seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter to join our well-established residential construction firm working on luxury homes across MetroWest, North Shore, and the Greater Boston region. Position will focus on interior and exterior renovation and restoration, including kitchens and baths, new additions, as well as installing and fitting fine cabinetry and architectural woodworking. Project-based work with fun, small team and great clients.
Candidates will have 5-10 years experience in residential construction or trades with a solid understanding of the home building process. Organization, time management and good technical skills are required. A keen eye for detail, strong work ethic and good communication skills are important to our company culture. Our Lead Carpenters must interact with both clients and subcontractors with a professional approach. They are expected to execute projects from start to finish within budget and schedule parameters.
Qualifications:
- 5-10(++) years experience in residential construction field, or associated trade
- Rough carpentry experience and extensive finish carpentry skills (including cabinetry, trim and millwork installation)
