Babson Oak
There were two main forces driving the renovation of this 1844 Colonial Revival. In the existing floor plan, the kitchen and dining spaces were each small and disconnected from other parts of the house. Secondly, the house is U-shaped, and the client had long enjoyed the idea of adding a freestanding greenhouse structure between the two wings. The MH team not only re-built the entire kitchen-dining wing, but also added an integrated solarium space. This interior “greenhouse” bridges the first floor interior zones and floods the new kitchen with natural light. Read more in this feature by House Beautiful online Spring 2022.
